As part of my final-year university project, I worked as a designer within a multidisciplinary team to develop an integrated system aimed at improving waste collection and community engagement in the peripheral neighborhoods of Santa Fe. The project combined a web platform and an interactive totem, designed to facilitate waste management, social interaction, and real-time municipal updates.
We collaborated with local health centers and the Santa Fe Municipality to align our system with the city’s waste collection circuit and management processes. This initiative was rooted in Design Thinking, focusing on understanding the context, user needs, and environmental challenges to develop a viable, desirable, and feasible solution. Through iterative research, ideation, and prototyping, we designed user-friendly interfaces that encouraged community participation and improved urban health conditions.
